Pizzella Family Vineyard reviews:

  • 2008 Malbec Pizzella Vineyard:
90 Points, Wine Spectator (Nov 30th 2009) and Smart Buys
Ripe and polished, with lush layers of raspberry, blueberry and fig fruit that glide over alluring spice notes, with well-integrated grip.
  • 2008 Malbec Pizzella Vineyard:
89 Points, Wine Advocate (Aug 2009) Issue WA # 184
The 2008 Malbec Pizzella Family received the same elevage as the Paulucci bottling. More saturated in color, it also delivers a more complex aromatic array, riper fruit, and a lengthy, pure finish.
  • 2007 Malbec Pizzella Family:
    91 Points, Wine Spectator (Nov 15th 2008)
Ripe and flashy, with a showy layer of mocha leading the way for spice cake, raspberry and boysenberry fruit flavors laid over a lush, creamy finish.
  • 2007 Malbec Pizzella Family:
89 Points, Wine Advocate (Dec 2008) Issue WA #180
Dark ruby-colored, it exhibits an attractive perfume of cedar, leather, cinnamon, pepper, and black cherry
  • 2006 Malbec Pizzella Vineyard:
90 Points, Wine Advocate (Dec 2007) Issue WA # 174
  • 2004 Malbec Pizzella Vineyard:

Cocina Blend Reviews:

  • 2008 Cocina Blend:
90 Points, Wine Advocate (Aug 2009) Issue WA # 184
Purple-colored, bouquet of cinnamon, Dentyne gum, cigar box, violets, black cherry, and blueberry.
  • 2007 Cocina Blend:
    89 Points, Wine Spectator (Oct 31st 2008)
Very up front, with mocha and fruitcake aromas leading the way for a creamy-textured palate of fig, melted licorice and dark plum fruit. The round finish lets the toast and fruit linger.
  • 2006 Cocina Blend:
89 Points, Wine Advocate, Robert Parker Jr. (Dec, 2007)
